'Sadyamayakkam' aka 'The sleep after the feast!'

Is a concept that was born from an interesting aspect of Kerala's cultural background - a place known for its rich cultural diversity and history. Despite the differences it’s always a joyous moment for every Malayali to get back to their roots to be a part of their cultural extravagance - to celebrate, dress up and eat well for every festival that comes by wherever you are. The story is weaved as a narrative of a dream sequence of a lady who sleeps sound after a fulfilling sadyavattam (feast). In this sequence she finds herself captivated in an enchantment. The extraordinary snippet of events one after the other leaves her amused so as to find what's a reality and a dream. She realises that her Kasavu saree had already transformed into the costume of a Mohiniyattam dancer. Along the way she finds the beautiful ‘Krishna Kireedam’ - a flower native to Kerala transformed to as a ‘Kavadi’- a wooden craft piece used to perform as part of a ceremonial offering during festivals. A little ahead she could see her childhood friend trying to fish with the glorious Kathakali crown on his head, the
Damayanti in her always wanted to wear one too. But to her surprise she was also crowned to suit her Nalan. Amidst the alluring visuals she could sense the sweet smell of reality trying to lure her back in.
Who could resist those “Uniyappam’s” after all ?
