‘Thodi’ aka ‘The Yard’

It is obvious that however healthy you are with age your body starts to convey a different message altogether. But Achachan (grandpa) thinks otherwise. Every day regardless of everything he and ‘Tintu’( grandpa’s pet ) set out for their evening walk through the yard. It is indeed a sight to watch - him, the dog and their pursuit of happiness framed in every step they walk by. Tintu always had an archenemy- the crow. They always seemed to be in a feud and everyday its a new story between them. Yet they seem to be around each other. Achachan was never a person who showed much physical affection to kids. But whenever we arrived (grandkids) he was always eager to go to the yard in search for ripe rambutans. May be that was his was of showing his love. Love - such a strange emotion. Love is a hidden language that often gets lost in translation.
